Anything can happen in 12 months…

Happy New Year

Isn’t it strange how you plan for events and something entirelly different shows up in its place?

Ive been reflecting on 2014 recently and its been an amazing year although it has had some roller coaster moments!  Last January, I was teaching Music Business at an FE College and I was planning to continue my teaching career and complete some certified training.  Life threw a curveball and I changed direction.

Since leaving my job, so many opportunities have presented themselves and one of my big goals has been achieved.  RMA was launched in November and at the beginning of the year it was only a faint dream.  Don’t get me wrong, I left to nothing and it was hard, but sometimes you need to take a leap of faith.

I wanted to tell you this because anything can happen in a year!  Dreams can become reality in as little as 12 months and nothing is impossible.  I realise this sounds very corny but its ok to think like that from time to time.  Now is the time for setting your goals.  I don’t mean shakey New Year Resolutions….actual tangible goals with clarity to help you stay on track.  Whatever you are working on, I think its really important to have clear ideas of what you want to achieve.  You should all have big dreams fixed in your mind and you should be thinking of tactical ways of achieving them.

“Plans are nothing; planning is everything.”

Dwight D. Eisenhower

Goal setting has been a real turning point for me and although the plans do not always work, the process is really important.  It focuses my mind and makes my big goals seem closer.

I sincerely hope that 2015 will be an amazing year for you and you can tick off some big goals in these next 12 months!

My mind is beginning to switch from holiday mode but my body is still full of wine and sickly Quality Street.  One more day and then its time to kick into action.

Enjoy your NYE celebrations and when the haze has lifted… get playing some music!
